Casa Don Ramón was founded in 1996 in Jalisco, Mexico. In 2018, Casa Don Ramón was acquired by the beverages and spirits group Dialce, a subsidiary of the Grupo IIDEA and home to Tequila Don Álvaro, Tequila Buen Amigo, and Tequila Valeroso.
Dialce is the parent company of Tequila Don Ramón. With over twenty years of experience, Dialce is the leading producer of tequila and 100% agave tequila. Currently, it exports retail, wholesale, and private label bottling to over fifty countries.
In Mexico, Casa Don Ramón has long been the preferred brand of tequila lovers. With decades of experience in agave harvesting and tequila production, we are a respected authority in the industry. Casa Don Ramón is an innovative company within the tequila sector, with a significant impact on other tequila brands. Our unwavering commitment and respect for the process, agave, and land result in a liquor known as the favorite tequila of experts.
Blue agave is mainly harvested in the highlands of Jalisco, where blue agave abounds thanks to the microclimate and mineral-rich soil. Except for Mezcal Don Ramón, which uses salmiana agave harvested in Zacatecas, Mexico.
For decades, Casa Don Ramón has been considered best in class for its artisanal approach to tequila, backed by science and state-of-the-art facilities. The star ingredient, blue agave, takes seven years to mature and is harvested by expert jimadors. Once harvested, the piñas are slowly baked in autoclaves where, after several days, they release the sweet agave juice. Seven kilograms of blue agave are needed to produce one bottle of Tequila Don Ramón.
The state-of-the-art production plant of Casa Don Ramón in Jalisco, Mexico, carries out most of the distillation. This plant meets the highest standards of quality and safety and continually strives to ensure the continuous improvement of its processes.
The tequila master distiller is a certified expert in the art of fine tequila and plays an integral role in tequila production. They define the standards and ensure the consistency of the brands’ spirits for which they produce tequila.
The master tequila and mezcal distiller at Casa Don Ramón is Mr. Jesús Reza. With four decades of experience in the liquor industry, Mr. Reza is certified in the art of fine tequila and rum. He is responsible for the distillation and fermentation of tequila to ensure that each batch has the complex range of flavors and aromas for which the brand is known.
The main types of tequila are blanco (silver), reposado (rested), añejo (aged), and extra añejo (extra aged). In recent years, cristalino has been added to the market.
Blanco is a clear liquor made from pure blue agave and bottled directly after double distillation. Reposado is made by allowing blanco tequila to rest in oak for a period ranging from two to eleven months. Añejo is an extremely sophisticated and highly aromatic liquor aged for a minimum of one year in a single barrel.
Extra añejo is a 100% tequila that has been aged for three years or more. It is the most aromatic of the expressions with the least bitter taste.
Cristalino is the result of a contemporary approach to aged tequila. This expression is a reposado or añejo tequila that has been distilled and filtered after initial aging. The result is a liquor with the complexity, notes, and character of an aged tequila and the clear appearance and strong notes of a blanco.
A mixto tequila is one where the sugar content is composed of 51% agave and 49% sugars from other sources.
Casa Don Ramón’s 100% agave tequila does not contain any additives.
100% agave tequila can only be produced in five Mexican states: Jalisco, Michoacán, Tamaulipas, Nayarit, and Guanajuato.
“Tequila” comes from the indigenous Tequili peoples and the volcano that rises above the vast hectares of blue agave fields in the state of Jalisco.
Blanco tequilas are an excellent base for cocktails with fruits, while a reposado is an excellent substitute for traditional whiskey cocktails.
Using proper glassware will enhance your tasting experience. Our master tequila recommends serving tequila at room temperature in a flute glass and allowing the liquor to reveal itself fully, just like a fine whiskey or wine.

The Tequila Don Ramón Platinium collection brings a modern approach to traditional distillation practices with state-of-the-art industrial scale methods coupled with artisanal techniques to remove the color and spicy taste of tequila.
Cristalino is a modern approach to aged tequila. This variant is a reposado or añejo tequila that has been distilled and filtered after initial aging. Casa Don Ramón’s patented filtration process removes the woody notes of the barrel and the golden color to obtain a liquor with the complexity and character of aged tequila and the appearance and fresh, strong notes of blanco.
Most cristalino tequilas are clear, but reposados and añejos retain a straw-like color as Casa Don Ramón’s filtration method does not strip the tequila of the color and properties it acquired during aging. This reflects the authenticity of añejo or reposado tequila.
All three variants are uniquely delicious and can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or mixed into your favorite tequila cocktail. The Platinium collection is extraordinarily versatile and caters to a variety of tastes.

All tequilas start as plata or blanco, as these are simply those that have not been aged, explaining their lack of color from time spent in the barrel. While cristalino tequila has a more or less extended maturation process and is usually a reposado, añejo, or extra añejo tequila that has been filtered.
To achieve their distinctive flavors, each of our aged tequilas is aged for a different period of time in our oak barrels with controlled temperature and humidity.
